No llevo falda

Postby wmm » Sat Sep 26, 2009 8:37 am

At the end of the bonus lesson on clothing, after Amy describes what she's wearing, Mauricio says, "Yo no llevo falda!" I would have expected either "Yo no llevo faldas" ("I don't wear skirts") or "Yo no llevo una falda" ("I'm not wearing a skirt"). Is there a rule that covers dropping the article in a negative statement like this? Is there a particular nuance to the meaning when the article is omitted?
